Dr. David Klibanoff

Dr. David A. Klibanoff is the founder of the present Klibanoff Eye Associates, Ltd. after he obtained the practice from his father, Dr. Max Klibanoff, in 1979. Dr. Klibanoff attended the University of Rhode Island and majored in biology and electrical engineering. He then went on to attend the New England College of Optometry and graduated in 1976 earning Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees.

During his training Dr. Klibanoff rotated through various clinics and specialties including: Dorchester House Multi-Discipline Health Clinic; Pediatric clinic, Boston, MA; NECO clinic, Boston, MA. He completed more specialized training in the area of Vision Rehabilitation/Low Vision; Primary Care and Ocular Disease and Contact Lenses.

Dr. Klibanoff also has extensive experience and knowledge in contact lens fitting and care including those patients with high amounts of astigmatism and those requiring multi-focal lenses. He is also trained to fit keratoconus and other corneal diseases with gas permeable lenses.

Throughout his career he has given numerous educational lectures on diabetes to patients and staff at local hospitals. He consistently updates himself on the most current and up-to-date technologies in diagnostic and treatment regimens.

Dr. Klibanoff provides a comprehensive range of eye care services for both children and adults, including prescriptive eyeglasses, contact lenses and the diagnosis and treatment of various eye diseases. He is a long standing member of the American Optometric Association and Rhode Island Optometric Association.

Dr. Benjamin Klibanoff

Dr. Benjamin Klibanoff attended Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts majoring in biology and chemistry. While at Wheaton he was accepted into the 3+4 year pre-optometry program and was admitted early into Optometry school based on his high scholastic achievements. Dr. Klibanoff then received his Doctorate of Optometry degree from The New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts, and graduated with distinguished honors.

While earning his degree, Dr. Klibanoff gained clinical experience and knowledge through intense internships at The University of Maryland Medical Center and Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, the Dimock Community Health Center in Roxbury, Massachusetts, the Perkins School for The Blind in Watertown, Massachusetts, New England Eye Institute Pediatrics in Boston, Massachusetts, and the Providence Veterans Affairs Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island.

After graduation he was accepted into and completed a specialized residency program through Harvard Medical School at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston, MA. His residency training emphasized diagnosis and treatment of ocular emergencies as well as other common ophthalmic diseases including diabetes, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and dry eye. Dr. Klibanoff is also extensively trained in specialty contact lenses including patients requiring astigmatism correction, bifocals/multifocals, hard contact lenses, and lenses for keratoconus. Dr. Klibanoff also has presented many posters and research papers at the annual American Academy of Optometry (AAO) conferences and is a certified Fellow of the AAO. Dr. Klibanoff is also in the process of becoming a Diplomate in the AAO.

Dr. Klibanoff provides a comprehensive range of eye care services, for both children and adults, including vision screening testing, prescriptive eyeglasses, contact lenses, and the diagnosis and treatment of various eye diseases. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association, the Rhode Island Optometric Association, and the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Mona Aoude Klibanoff

Dr. Mona Aoude Klibanoff graduated cum laude from Boston University in Boston, MA with a B.A. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She received her Doctor of Optometry from The New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA and graduated with distinguished honors as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.

While earning her degree, Dr. Klibanoff completed extensive externships at University of Maryland Medical Center and Hospital in Baltimore, MD, Dorchester House Multi-Service Center in Dorchester, MA, Perkins School for The Blind in Watertown, MA, Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA and the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Providence, RI. After graduation she completed a residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Brockton, MA, with emphasis in primary eye care and advanced ocular disease such as diabetes, glaucoma and macular degeneration.

She specializes in primary eye care including comprehensive eye exams, management and treatment of ocular diseases, glasses and contact lens services, the pre- and post-operative co-management of cataract and refractive surgery patients.

Dr. Klibanoff has presented posters: "Traumatic Unilateral CN IV Palsy Following A Motorcycle Accident", and "Bilateral Non-Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy Secondary to Malignant Hypertension" at annual American Academy of Optometry (AAO) conferences.

Dr. Klibanoff is a native of Massachusetts, where she resides with her husband Benjamin, two children Carter and Joanna, and Border Terrier Gus. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. She is fluent in Arabic.
